I’ve always thought that learning Chinese through music could be a fun and easy way to learn the language. Today in Yusi Gao’s intermediate Mandarin class, we did just that by learning the words to the famous song “Tian Mi Mi” by Teresa Teng. Teresa Teng, originally from Taiwan, was known for her famous romantic ballads and folk songs.
The English translation of the song is as follows:
How sweetly your smile,
Just like a flower blossoming in a spring breeze,
Where have I seen you?
Your smile is so familiar,
At this moment, I cannot remember..
Ahh, in my dreams.
In my dreams I have seen you.
How sweet your smile.
It’s you, It’s you in my dreams.
